Program begins with a brief memorial service including lighting of candles
followed by showing of film “A Day in October” about Danish underground trying to sabotage the German Nazi War
and helping Jewish people escape from Denmark to Switzerland
“A Day in October” is rated PG-13 (Parents strongly cautioned). Set in 1943, it includes adult themes and situations. Kenneth Madsen’s film “A Day in October” treats one of the more heroic chapters of World War II, the Danes’ rescue of most of their Jewish population during the Nazi occupation.
It is an inspirational history lesson in the guise of a thriller.
No charge to attend. Everyone is welcome!
