TBEMC Funds

Your donations to the following funds at Temple Beth-El Mekor Chayim help in a variety of ways to sustain the temple and its programs.

  • Temple General Fund– Donations to the Temple General Fund may be made directly, or are pooled from a variety of miscellaneous donations, and support all aspects of general temple operations.
  • Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund-This fund is used solely by the Rabbi for  special causes such as helping families in need and supporting specific projects.
  • Etz Chayim– Started as a major capital campaign, Etz Chayim continues to support a variety of large-scale temple capital projects.
  • Kol Nidre – Our major annual fundraising appeal held in conjunction with the High Holidays. These donations support the temple’s General Fund.
  • Yahrzeit – Donations in memory of a loved one are made to charity according to the Yizkor prayer, and also on the occasion of a Yahrzeit. These donations become part of the temple’s General Fund and cover a wide variety of uses.
  • Minyan Tzedakah – Your contributions to the “pushka” in the chapel are collected and distributed throughout the year to a variety of worthy charities.
  • Shiva Hesed – Your contributions support the practice of providing shiva meals to comfort the bereaved. It is appropriate to contribute in memory of a friend or loved one, either following a loss, or in observing a yahrzeit.
  • Torah Restoration – Your contributions help to support the repair and restoration of our collection of Torah scrolls.
  • Holocaust Garden – Your contributions provide plants, flowers, materials and maintenance for our beautiful Holocaust Memorial Garden.
  • Bonnie Weiner Library Fund – The library is named in memory of temple member and teenage accident victim, Bonnie Weiner. This fund supports the purchase of books and general maintenance for the temple library.
  • Bernice Weinstock – This fund, in memory of Bernice Weinstock, was started by the Weinstock and Greenberg families and continues to support various temple projects.
  • Doris Bloomfield Memorial Fund – This fund, in memory of Doris Bloomfield, was started by Joe Bloomfield, and continues to support various temple projects.
  • Phyllis and Irving Metzger Fund – This fund, in memory of Phyllis Metzger, was started by the Metzger family and continues to support various temple projects.
  • Religious School – Your contributions help to support the Religious School and its programs.
  • Simcha – Your contributions help to support the temple’s hospitality needs for Onegs, Kiddushim, and events.
  • Men’s Club -Your contributions help to support the Men’s Club and its programs.
  • Sisterhood – Your contributions help to support the Sisterhood and its programs.
  • USY/Kadima – Your contributions help to support our USY and Kadima youth groups and their programs.
